Vehicles and props work

The first assignment for my vehicles and props class was neither a vehicle, nor a prop…but more of a character. My instructor let it slide though because he was mainly concerned with how the thing worked and my thought process behind it.

The story is about a boy who wakes up from a cryo sleep far into the future. When he wakes up, the world is no longer inhabited by humans. Instead he is greeted by CID: companion information drone, who serves as a travel guide showing the boy how the world is reclaiming the manmade structures of the past and all the beauty it has to offer.

Metroid ride painting and process

In a perfect world, there would be a Nintendo land. A place where people of all ages could search for pokemon in the tall grass, pull a master sword out of a pedestal in a sacred forest, or visit the mushroom kingdom and take pictures with a plumber and a princess. In this world, I can also envision an exhilarating ride that is a mixture of the Indiana Jones adventure or Star Tours but with a Metroid theme. A space pirate installation shows signs of metroids breaking loose and it's up to you and Samus to save the day in the Metroid Morphball Mission. Here are some concepts and development of one of my favorite projects to work on at Art Center.

Update to shadow of the colossus sequel

I've been working on this piece a bit because I wasn't satisfied with the temperature or the space of the previous version. I added a sky to give it a better sense of depth and gave it a color pass to make it more interesting.
